Ribbon Board

This week while Dani and Lance were here, Dano and I decided to make ourselves some ribbon boards. We took pieces of plywood, some batting, some material, some ribbon, some staples, and a whole bunch of furniture tacs and wahlah! You have the lovely picture ribbon board you see below.

Old dresser and mirror makeover.

I bought this dresser almost three years ago when I first moved to Boston for 20 US dollars (off Craigslist). The dresser was cheap and had scratches all over. Please note the lovely circa 1970's hardware.

I inherited this mirror from a former roommate:

I bought a small can of dark brown pain and went to town. I put on only one coat, so the natural wood (or simulated wood paneling, in the case of the dresser) is still kind of visible under the dark brown paint (which was my goal). Also, I replaced the awesome hardware with something a little more earthy.

Total cost: paint (~$15.00) plus hardware (~$18.00) = ~$33.00
